This week, we’re highlighting another one of the incredible individuals who makes up Stoltzfus Meats: the company president, Travis. We hope you enjoy learning more about him and what he does here at Stoltzfus Meats!
Q: Share your journey with Stoltzfus Meats.
A: My journey with Stoltzfus Meats began in 1995. I started going to our New Castle, DE market as a 15-year-old, working as a clerk in the meat stand. It was fast-paced, and long hours, but a lot of fun as well. In 2003, several years after graduating from college, Myron (owner and CEO) reached out to me about coming back to work for the company. I was not yet on a clear career path, so, knowing who Myron and the company were, I decided to take a step. I spent time in order fulfillment, miscellaneous jobs in our processing plant, and learning to cut meat at our Ardmore market stand (now run by a distant relative). I eventually had the opportunity to manage that stand before coming to work in the office as the company Controller. Prior to being named President, I was most recently serving in the role of VP of Finance.

Q: If you could switch jobs for a day with anyone else within the company, who would it be? And why?
A: Wow, that’s a tough question! While I have no professional experience in this area, I really enjoy cooking, and think it would be fun (and challenging) to work on the grill for a day at Amos’s Place. I also really love cutting meat, so I would enjoy stepping into one of the meat cutting roles at either retail location.
Q: What is your favorite thing about your current role?
A: I really enjoy interacting with all of the wonderful people that we have working at Stoltzfus Meats. We have such an incredible team, and everyone really cares about each other and the quality of product that we are putting out!
Q: What is your favorite Stoltzfus Meats product?
A: Another tough one – if I had to choose, I would say our original sausage. It’s the best out there, and can be used in so many ways.
Q: If you had to describe yourself in three words, what words would you use?
A: Competitive, even-keeled, and systematic

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you like to go? And why?
A: I have so many places I’d like to visit, but I really want to explore Iceland. It looks wild, beautiful, and remote.
We hope you enjoyed getting to know Travis a bit more! He is a great leader who genuinely cares about every single employee and is willing to do any task to help out the Stoltzfus Meats team. Travis has a way of making the best of every situation and working through challenging situations with compassion and patience. For these reasons, and many more, we are so thankful for Travis and his leadership here at Stoltzfus Meats!
